Who the hell are Icebreakers?

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read our first blog post. The aim of the blog is to tell you a bit about the band and keep you updated regarding any of the goings on surrounding the band. I suppose we’ll begin by telling you a bit about Icebreakers.

Who?

Icebreakers are a professional 4-piece band based in the north west of Ireland, not far from Letterkenny. The band specialises in playing weddings, festivals and corporate events. Each member can boast over 15 years’ experience and have refined their skills over the years.

Why?

We offer a highly energetic set list incorporating songs from our diverse and upbeat song list. Our aim is to pack your dancefloor – we give it 100% every show because we know a band is only as good as the last show they’ve played!

Sound

It’s true what they say, we are sound! The band are perfectionists when it comes to live sound. We use a modern, state of the art PA system which ensures a powerful sound without being overly loud. We have a selection of smaller rigs for more intimate venues. Our resident engineer (and multi-instrumentalist) , Daireann is the brains behind our sound and he keeps a check on the sound for each show to ensure it’s perfect.

Set List

The set list is a very important factor when you are considering booking a band. We have a diverse set list which contains genres such as rock n roll, blues, country, disco, Irish country. Many couples want to know if we can keep older guests happy and the answer to this question is yes! On the other hand, if a couple would rather not hear any of the “oul sh**te” then we can plan for a more modern and alternative set list. Given the band’s experience, we can read the room and adjust the set list to please everyone. We also offer a DJ set and encourage couples for song recommendations for this section of the night. Wanna hear some obscure stuff during the DJ set, no problem – let us know!

Booking the band

Booking the band is a very straight forward process. Firstly, get in contact to have a chat with us and ensure that your date is available. If your date is available, a small deposit will secure it. It’s as simple as that! We deal with each booking ourselves so you will always deal with a member of the band for any queries you might have.
